The Park Ranger is inspired by none other than Betty Reid Soskin. Betty led an extraordinary life, championing the experiences of people of color as her journey unfolded in unexpected ways. Betty truly lived life to the fullest, getting to discover herself again and again as a singer, an activist, and at 85, a National Park Ranger. Betty says she hit her stride in midlife, no longer becoming but simply being. What a gift to have her wisdom!

On December 21st 2025, Betty joined the ancestors, where she’ll continue to be a source of inspiration and hope. Ms. Betty, may your spirit help guide us through these turbulent times.
